FORGIONE, John A., 77, of Wantagh, NY on June 21, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Lorene. Loving father of Joseph (Suzanne) and Christina Eckler (Wayne). Cherished papa of Nicholas and Victoria. Adored brother of Joseph (Carole), and Marie Dombrowski (Edward). Proud U.S. Navy Submarine Veteran. He qualified in submarines in USS Blenny (SS-324) September 30, 1959 and was FN(SS) when released by the Navy September 27, 1960. Dedicated Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Father Joseph O'Connell Council 3481 in Oceanside. Family will receive friends Monday, 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm, at the Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Homes, 603 Wantagh Ave. (Exit 28N SS PKWY) Wantagh, NY. WALKER, Maurice Clarence, LCDR, USN, Ret., 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Klamath Falls on June 19, 2018. Morrie is survived by his wife, Juanita "Bonnie" of Klamath Falls; his five children, Loretta Walker of Quaker Hill, Conn., Nancy Gill of Plant City, Fla., Joe Walker of Poulsbo, Wash., Carl Walker of Creswell, Ore., and Don Walker of Tacoma, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim Walker of New Plymouth Idaho, and Dan Walker of Council, Idaho. Morrie was born on Feb. 14, 1931, in Langell Valley to Vernon Clarence and Mary Clemmie Walker. In 1949, Morrie enlisted in the US Navy as a seaman in the submarine service. His distinguished career was highlighted by sea and shore assignments within the fields of fire control and missile guidance. In 1976, he retired from the Navy as a Weapons Officer in the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Morrie was a dedicated and loyal naval officer, as well as a devoted husband and loving father. He married Juanita "Bonnie" Grajeda in Yuma, Ariz., in 1950. Together Morrie and Bonnie travelled the world and raised their five children in U.S. bases and overseas locations to include Pearl Harbor, Spain and Guam. He was an avid sportsman with countless hunting and fishing adventures that continuing until the end of his life. He was a devout Christian and an active member of the Klamath Falls Church of Christ. Morrie passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home he shared with Bonnie. Bonnie will always remember his laughter and the love he expressed to her that night before he went to rest. A military honors memorial service will be conducted outdoors at 2 p.m., June 30, 2018, at the Veterans Memorial Park, 10 George Nurse Way, Klamath Falls. Immediately following the service, there will be a procession to where he will be laid to rest at Bonanza Memorial Park, Bonanza, Ore., beside his Walker ancestors since the Oregon Trail era. All are welcome to attend and honor Morrie's life.
