Give up??
Broke the upper left ball joint on my 2001 S10. Fun and games!!! Wheel sits at a real funny angle now!!!
Problem is it is 4 wheel drive and what else has been affected PLUS there was a ton of metal shavings from the inside of the Wheel rim. Maybe new wheel too. Alloy rim to replace.

A 2001 S-10 with relatively minor damage is worth fixing. If I was near you I'd help (but moving my 6'10" by 40" wide tool kit would be a chore). |

I think the least problem would be replacing the rim. What caused the ball joint to fail since it's part of the suspension system. You might have damaged some of the brake system as well. I hope it's a a relatively minor repair job. At least you didn't have an accident.

Come on Ric. Break down and spend some of that gold you have stashed under the house and buy a new vehicle....or at least a new horse and buggy!!! |

Joe, I happen to really like the S10. I had one before and found it to be just what I wanted, right size for my needs. It was totaled by a teenybopper too busy texting to drive. (it was a three vehicle collision and I was the only one to drive away) The S10's were replaced by the Colorado in 2004 which is too expensive and bigger in size, more truck than I want. This one is clean, (a couple little nicks), a one owner and was in garage storage for 6 years after the owner died. I bought it from his daughter. Besides, not finding any gold under the house, just dirt!
