BERG, Michael Lynn, CPO, USN Ret., 70, passed away on August 23, 2018 in Jupiter, Florida. He was born on April 4, 1948 in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, He was the son of Catherine (Berg) Duckett and the late Robert A Berg. He graduated from National University with a Bachelors of Business Adminstration. Michael served in the Navy from 1968 to 1988 and served tours of duty in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Submarine Service of the Navy he worked as a Purchasing Manager. Michael was the beloved husband of Kimberly W. Berg of Jupiter, Florida. He is also survived by his daughter, Maricel Berg Witko, her husband Aaron; and grandchildren, Caiden and Reese. Friends and family members may pay their respects at the graveside service, officiated by Capt. William McEllroy, USN Ret, on Monday, September 10 at 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Pennsylvania. www.pennlive.com/obits Published on Pennlive.com and in The Patriot-News on Sept. 1, 2018


ERPENBECK, Russ Alan, 62, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, with family by his side. He was born April 4, 1956, in New London, son of the late Richard Allen Erpenbeck and Joan Claire (Waddington) Erpenbeck. Russ was a US Navy veteran, navigating on the submarine USS Lipscomb. He was a lifetime member of the Clarksburg VFW Post 573 and American Legion Post 13. Russ was a captain of fishing boats. He enjoyed playing cards, pool, crafts and cooking. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Kay (Henderson) Erpenbeck; three stepchildren; and a sister, Robin Abbot of New London. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Allen Erpenbeck. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at the Davis Funeral Home in Clarksburg, W.Va. Interment will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery.
