At random: "I don't know why we have to be down here on this hold down exercise(at the 60th hour). Hell, I went through this on the Thresher (SS 200) during WW ll with a Nip Sea Going Tug hooked onto our screw guards, trying to lift our butts out of the water. They didn't get us then, and these Tin Cans (ours) ain't going to get us now." -- "Hambone" Hamilton SD1 (SS). "Hambone" made 13 war patrols on USS Remora, SS-487, uttered these words in July 1957 during a hold down exercise off Kobe Japan.

Subject: Update #45

Been working on this brand new page for about two weeks. It includes many all newly scanned images from original photos.
As you scroll down the page please note that Images #43 and #44 are never before seen images. We suspect this is the only copy of this image there is. This original photo came to PigBoats.COM all the way from Romania!! #43 is the image and #44 is the reverse side with the photo takers hand written explanation as to how he took it.
Anyway, the F-Boat page was getting way too long and it was decided to break out the salvage portion and redo almost all the images to bring them up 2018 standards.
Hope you enjoy the effort.

Well, there is an hour invested!
Spooky how much you can identify in a submarine built before I was born.
