Roy Clarke has died at 85 years old. Remember him on Hee Haw. He could sure play the guitar.

Roy was from Meherrin, Virginia, not far from where I live. He used to come home and play every year. In my estimation, Roy was the most accomplished guitarist after Chet Atkins. He was a really nice guy who never forgot his "roots". God Speed, Roy Clark.

Definitely One of the most sad days in real country music. As George Jone's song says," whose gonna fill their shoes". Certainly not any of the wannabees out there today

Truly a great entertainer and guy. Want to hear some more of his guitar work. Find "Under the Double Eagle" by Roy.

Sad to see him go - what a talent! And not only is the U.S. but all over the world. There is another clip of this track but it was spoilt I thought with a detracting orange picture bubble that bounced all over the screen. It had not been added but was apparently in the original film. Here is a clip of a young British musicians overview of Roy's skills playing "Malaguena" on the Odd Couple TV show many years ago. Absolute professional brilliance at work.
