At random: In their history, submarines were called by many names such as 'eel boats', 'plunging boats', 'devil divers', and 'pig boats'. Technically, and by size, the submarine is a ship, but it has been called a boat since its earliest days, and the term is steeped in tradition. Submariners almost invariably call their ships 'boats".

If it is only ready now, Ric, from last year; you will need a second suit to wear for formal occasions.

I played Santa for a few years.

Back in the 20th Century, I would dress up as Santa and stand on the the road outside a non-profit organization which was having a Christmas Craft Fair.

The job was to wave at the passing cars, ring my bell, hope to attract attention, and get people to pull into the parking lot.

I passed the uniform onto the next Dad who took the job.
