BRANIN, Edward R., founder and First President of US SUBMARINE VETERANS OF WWII (His membership number in the database is 00001), died on September 30, 2007. The last few years were very difficult years for Ed, but he never forgot his love of the submarines or how proud he was he and Hugh Trimble started such a great organization. Even though his memory faded, he still managed to never lose sight of his years on the USS Bergall (SS-320) and the USS Caiman (SS-323) during World War II. He was a principal at the Cherry Hill NJ High School before his retirement. Funeral arrangements are tentative -- viewing on Wednesday night at Bradley Funeral Home and burial on Thursday morning at Locust Wood Memorial Cemetary in Cherry Hill, NJ.

BUTLER, Thomas Francis, 86, the rock of our family passed into God's arms on September 28, 2007. Born September 21, 1921 in Dallas, TX, Tom is survived by the love of his life for 62 years, Lillian; two children Tom Jr. and Gayla Burgess; six grandchildren Clinton Brady, Michelle Martin, Christine Kozera, Brandi Alonzo and Eric and Clay Butler; eight great-grand children Thomas, Andrea, Miranda, Logan, Megan, Aubrey, Andrew, Jaden and the eagerly awaited Tony Kozera and baby Butler. Tom served bravely in World War II in the U.S. Navy as a Submariner aboard the USS Muskallunge (SS-262) and USS Baya (SS-318). He later became an architect and builder. He was a member of the VFW and the Submarine Veterans of WWII, a Boy Scout Leader, and served his church in many capacities. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m., with services from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 2, 2007 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 848 Harter Rd., Dallas, TX 75218. May your spirit be at peace. We love you Pa Pa!
