DELACRUZ, Clemente Jaminal, 91, of Waterford, CT, passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cavite, Philipines on Dec. 27, 1926 the son of Francisco and Herbacia Jaminal DelaCruz. Clemente was married to Gloria Neto on December 30, 1946 in New London. Gloria passed away January 9, 1997. Clemente joined the US Navy Submarine Service in 1945 and retired as a Petty Officer First Class in 1969. After retiring he was a barber at both the Coast Guard Academy and at John's Barber Shop in Groton. He was an avid fisherman especially with his kids and grandkids a hunter, gardener and he loved to dance with the Shoreline #50's Single and the Norwich 50 + Single. At the age of 70 he decided to take up golf and continued to play almost until his death. Clemente is survived by five sons, Clemente J., Jr of Port St. Lucie, FL, Kenneth J. of N. Stonington, Jeffrey M. and Mark J. both of Waterford and David J. of Uncasville, seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, and his long-time companion, Joyce Merlo. He was predeceased by his daughter Mona Kupka this past August as well as his four sisters, two brothers and one step sister. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday morning, at the Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St, New London. Interment with Military Honors will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 3 until 7 o'clock on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be directed to the Center for Hospice Care of SE CT, 227 Dunham St, Norwich, CT 06360. EHRNSCHWENDER, David Joseph, 72 of Brookville, Indiana passed away on December 3, 2018 at his home. The son of John and Melba (Allman) Ehrnschwender was born on December 8, 1945 in West Virginia. On April 20, 1974, he married Carol Landolt in Findlay, Ohio, and raised three children. David retired after 33 years as the Vice President of Fairbanks Scale Company. A proud US Navy veteran who served during Vietnam as a Submariner in USS Caiman (SS-323). He was a member of the Community Church in Batesville, the VFW, American Legion and the DAV. David enjoyed playing golf and going boating. He liked woodworking and making various types of chainsaw carvings, as well as drawing and painting. David spent time developing their land at Circle E homestead and volunteering at Community Church and The Springs. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Carol; son, Joe (Celine) Ehrnschwender; daughters, Teresa (Michael) Maher and Jayme (Bill) Harris; grandchildren, Brittany (Brett) Parker, Sean (Amanda) Maher, David (Katie) Ehrnschwender, Steven (Leah) Ehrnschwender, Cory (Montana) Ehrnschwender, Chelsey Oakes (Nick Casbar), Brandon (Jodi) Oakes; 17 great grandchildren; along with his siblings, Margaret (Jack) Seiwert, Jerry (Sandy) Ehrnschwender, Corky Ehrnschwender and Debbie (Mark) Zender. Preceded in death by brothers Ray (Mary) Ehrnschwender and Chris (Mary) Ehrnschwender. A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Greensburg Community Church.
