BRAMAN, Elvin George “Al”, 76, died Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at his home in Panama City Beach, Fla. He was born April 6, 1931, and was raised in Massachusetts by his parents, Walter and Deborah Braman. He married Thelma Jean Hedrick on May 14, 1950. They shared 51½ years of marriage and had four children. He is survived by his four children, Elvin E. Braman and wife, Jane, Sharon Marlar and husband, Richard, Debra Corkran and William (Bill) Braman and wife, Susie; nine grandchildren, Lauren, Heidi, Emma, Audrey, Heather, Bethany, Joshua, Emily and Alexander; and two great-granddaughters, Andrina and Nelyana. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service. During his years of service, he was stationed out of Key West, Fla., Ballston Spa, N.Y., and New London, Conn. He retired E-8, SCPO after 22 years of submarine service. After retiring from the Navy, he relocated to Panama City Beach, where he worked civil service positions at the Naval Support Activity Center and at the Port of Panama City. He moved to Dothan, Ala., and worked as an instructor for Alabama Power and retired after 11 years of service. He and his wife spent several years between their homes in Panama City Beach and Hurricane, Utah. He was one of the founding members of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 346 and the U.S. Submarine Veterans Inc. Seawolf Base. He was a very proud member of both organizations. He greatly enjoyed the camaraderie he shared with his fellow shipmates and members. Interment with full military honors by the U.S. Navy will be at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla., with a U.S. Navy Chaplain officiating. Instead of flowers, contributions can be made in his honor to Sea Cadets, c/o John Duncan, 1487 Hwy 79 Bonify, FL 32425 or Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th St. Panama City, FL 32405. PFEIFER, Henry, 84, died Friday, October 12, 2007 in Ft. Myers, Florida of natural causes. He was born August 24, 1923 to the late Jacob and Augusta Pfeifer. He was a World War ll U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Philippians on the submarine USS Sea Devil (SS-400) and the destroyer escort USS Doneff. In May 1944 he married his high school sweetheart. He spent the majority of his working life raising his family in Akron, Ohio. He and his wife spent their retirement years in Ft. Myers, Florida. While in Akron he was a member of the Arlington Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Masonic Temple and the Order of the Eastern Star and was active in the Navy Destroyer Escort Association. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bernece; daughter, Sandra (Pfeifer) Roser and her husband, Kenneth, of Uniontown, Ohio; son, Daniel Pfeifer and his wife, Lynn, of South Bend, Indiana; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He loved his God, his wife, his family, his friends and his country. While he will be missed in death, he will be remembered in life for the love he always showed others. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 4 to 9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Hospice of Cape Coral, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy., Cape Coral, Fla. 33909. RENO, Michael J., 80, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the William B. Kessler Hospital, Hammonton. The cause of his death was respiratory failure. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Michael W. and Clara H. Rossiter Reno. He was the second child, first son of a family of seven children. He was a multi-talented man-an inventor, design engineer and small business owner. He attended the University of Pennsylvania. Michael was a US Navy World War II Veteran, having served in the Submarine Service aboard the USS Sea Robin (SS-407) and the USS Greenfish (SS-351). One of Michael's grea joys was building a sea-going 28 ft. cabin cruiser with a set of plans his only guide. Many fishing trips with friends made Mike a "Captain" to his friends. Most will remember Mike as the Assistant Manager and Marine Mechanic at the former Four Star Marina in Leesburg. He is survived by brothers, Andrew, John, and Frank and sisters, Claire Allen and Mary Ellen Miller and many loving nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for family and friends at the former Four Star Marina in Leesburg. Arrangements are being handled by Hoffman Funeral Homes Leesburg.

Al Braman was enjoyed and respected by all who knew him here in Panama City/Panama City Beach.

Seawolf Base will memorialize Al at an already-scheduled shrimp boil luncheon on Saturday, Oct 20.

Fleet Reserve Branch 346 will hold a memorial for Al on Sunday, Oct 21, at 2:30pm.

A delegation will travel to Pensacola for the interment on Nov 2.
