Great story Pedro.
Just talking to Patti about it right now.
Her Dad was USAAF and a gunner on B-17's. Had two shot out from under him. He flew out of a field at Peterborough.
He was awarded the DFC for saving his pilot and getting him into his parachute and shoving him out of the plane then jumped himself.
