At random: Dollar for dollar and man for man, the submarine is the country's most economical weapon. Comprising only 1.6 percent of the Navy's World War II personnel, the submarine service accounted for 55 percent of all enemy shipping destroyed.

...as can be expected after almost 12 hours of surgery.
Patti went into the hospital yesterday morning for a "quick" laparoscopic surgery to correct something that should have been done 30 years ago. The original surgery had left so much scar tissue the Dr couldn't do the job and had to go in the old fashion way. The original intent of the surgery was accomplished but in the process her bladder was nicked and required a urological surgical team to correct.
The original surgery began at 8:30AM and then after everything it ended at 7:30 PM. After recovery she didn't get to a room until about 11PM. By this time I had been up for 21 hours and had had little food and was exhausted myself plus I had missed taking my evening meds. I ended up crashing on the chair/bed that is in the room. Now I had missed my day meds and was starving. I went home.
Patti was really groggy and just wanted to sleep.
I headed home and had breakfast and took meds and now heading back to bed for a few hours.
Here is a shot taken in Recovery. She is pretty much out of it here but knows I took the pic.
You can drop messages to her facebook or here.

Later!

Patti is still very sore and is experiencing a lot of gas pains and is still really tired.
I was back this afternoon but left after I could see she was getting burned out and needed some rest.
Will call her later tonight and go back in the morning.

Good to hear she's doing really well. Lord knows hospitals are not the best at down time and rest. But hang in there and let the docs do their magic.

I was in to see Patti this morning and she had been sitting up for a bit and did walk around the bed. About wore her out.
I just talked with her on the phone and she was up again ans did a bit more walking.
There is a possibility she might come home tomorrow but that is still in question.
I'm suppose to sneak her in some of her coffee since all they have is Starbucks (even some of the nurses hate it). Shhhhhh...don't tell.

Still sore but glad to be back home. Will take a while to figure out all the ways we need to do things.

So, who did you get to clean the house before you brought her home? Glad to hear she is doing well enough to go home.
