At random: Nautilus has long been a popular name for a submarine. Some of the more famous of these are Robert Fulton's NAUTILUS (1800), Jules Verne's fictional Nautilus, and the NAUTILUS of Sir Hubert Wilkins in which he attempted a voyage to the North Pole under the ice (1931). There have also been three U.S. submarines of that name, including the world's first nuclear powered submarine built by the Electric Boat Division.

I just got back from a colonoscopy. My head is NOT up my ass, as many of you believe. And I have pictures to prove it!

3 small polyps, all removed.

Thank goodness colonoscopies happen only (usually) every ten years. And it's always good to get a favorable report. Not to get into a I can do you one better battle, I must go the other route shortly.I will be undergoing a "endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatogram (ERCP). Sounds like some nuke tea kettle exam that's worse than an ORSE. Thank goodness I'll be out like a light.

Great news on all counts.  Excuse my ignorance Jon, but the three small polyps were removed at a separate visit?

After my first one about 15 years ago, the Doctor came out and told my wife ( I was still zonked) that everything was fine. She tweaked his message by saying that I was a perfect a**hole! (But Ya'll already knew that).

I feel sorry for proctologists. Every day, when they get up, they know with certainty that all day long they will have to deal with one a**hole after another.

Gil: the polyp removal is done during the procedure. See a polyp, remove a polyp. I had a colonoscopy 5 years ago and they found 5 polyps, all removed. And I didn't feel a thing.

I asked them to keep me somewhat awake for my first one - it was fascinating to watch (including a polyp removal).  Had 3 since and enjoyed the nap!
