TIERNEY, Michael Patrick, aged 78. 'Mick' passed away on November 2, 2019. Funeral Service is to take place on Wednesday, 27 November 2019, Portchester Crematorium, South Chapel at 1.45pm. No flowers please, but donations, if desired, may be made to Submariners Association Gosport Branch, which will benefit the Widows Fund. SCHRADER, Walter James, 97, of Deep River, CT passed away November 10, 2019. He was the beloved husband of the late Lucille B. LaValle Schrader, who died 8/20/2008. Mr. Schrader was born September 12, 1922 in Dillonvale, Ohio son of the late William and Emma Schrader. He served his country proudly in the US Submarine Corps during World War II. He qualified in submarines in USS Gabilan (SS-252) in 1944 and was TM3(SS) when released by the Navy in 1945. He retired several years ago from the Southern CT Gas Co. Walter was an avid fan of the NY Giants and the UConn women's basketball team. He enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and reading books. In past years he especially enjoyed gardening and sharing his bountiful harvests. He is survived by daughters Donna Apuzzo of Hamden, Lucille (Welles) Bauman of Deep River, Judith Ranz of East Haven; son Walter (Deborah) Schrader Jr. of Branford; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by four sisters, three brothers, two grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services and burial were private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Celentano Funeral Home, New Haven, CT. Published in The New Haven Register on Nov. 17, 2019
