Two ORSEs for the Price of One

After seriously screwing up the first drill set, the ORSE board secured the drills, told the Engineer to restore the plant, they'll be in the Ward Room. As they travelled forward through the tunnel, a drill package was found open on the deck. The ORSE board was concerned that the drill package was compromised, and deliberated for 2 hours as to whether or not they'd continue.

The Captain convinced them it wasn't compromised, and the drills continued.

"FIRE in Engine Room Lower Level, FIRE in Main Lube Oil" was called away on the 2MC......the crew responds. The first responders head down.........shortly later...........

"Steam Line Rupture in Engine Room Lower Level!" was called away on the 2MC..........the crew responds.

The XO shows up at the scene to be the leader...........shorly later.......... The XO reached for the 4MC to tell us that the Steam Line Rupture was called away incorrectly, but instead of grabbing the 4MC, he hit the "Collision Alarm"..............the crew responds................Flooding !??!!

I think we proved to them that their drill package wasn't compromised !!!!!!!

 

What a better way to spend your on-coming time, but to be a drill monitor for ORSE drills.

I was a safety monitor in AMR2UL for a major fire in the Engine Room. Everyone donned EABs and went aft......traffic was stalled in Machinery 2 waiting the call to enter the Engine Room. This is when a very junior A-ganger showed up, thumb over the end of his EAB hose. He looked left, right, up...........then down trying to find someplace to plug in, but the only manifold in the area was full. His next step was to plug it into himself, but when no air came out, he did the only thing left to do.

He turned OFF the supply valve to the manifold...........................everyone removed their EABs.
