"Venting" the Digital Depth Detector

I was standing Chief of the watch during the mid watch. We were on our way back home and just hovering waiting to surface in the morning, the Dive, was the IC chief. All was quiet during the mid watch until the digital depth detector started going berzerk. The dive had me get the AEF to find out what was going on with the digital depth detector. The AEF quickly went down to crew's mess to check it out. He returned about 5 minutes later, trying to hold back from laughing, with the midnight crank (or FSA - Food Service Attendant as they are called now).

AEF then reported he noticed the FSA scrubbing the deck with soap and water, when the AEF asked where he (the FSA) got the water from. The FSA answered, "From the little spicket right here" - and opened the vent on the digital depth detector!!

Needless to say he got a crash course on the digital depth detector and RIG FOR DIVE!
