George F. Wescott CHESAPEAKE
George Fredrick Wescott, 74, passed away Oct. 4, 2011. He was born May 16, 1937 in Biloxi, Miss., to the late Marjorie and Barney S. Wescott. He was preceded in death by his bother, Barney S. Wescott III. He proudly served in the United States Navy with a distinguished career in the submarine service and retired as a senior chief electrician in 1975. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University in 1982 and pursued an interest in horticulture. He leaves his wife, Jean Hunt Wescott; four children, Jordan Lane (Sharon) Wescott, Georgia Lyn (Ronald) Kineman, Jennifer Wescott (Thomas) Elwell and Jamison Lee Wescott; a sister, Roberta "Bunny" Wescott; and a brother, Bobby W. Wescott. George also left many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will have a private service after the U.S. Navy scatters George's ashes at sea.
