Subject: Another Pickerel Shipmate Gone

I was posting the obit on Farmer and saw this. John Tice came on board as a QM in '68, the same month I got out. We were at Hunters Point and lately he had been an administrator for the Pickerel's Facebook site.

I'm saddened to inform all my shipmates that John Tice passed away last night. He was the quartermaster when I came on board in 1968. He was in the conning Tower with me when the hatch wouldn't dog on a dive. It sure was wet. He suffered from MS. He was strong and always kept a good attitude throughout it. After he got out of the Navy he and his father ran Ticed industries in Portland Oregon. They manufactured hardware. After his dad passed he took over the business in about
(5, 5, 5); font-size: 14px; white-space: pre-wrap;">10 years ago he passed it on to his son Scott tice. May the Lord comfort and bless his family. I'll see you again when it's my turn shipmate!
