HALL .. .. .. North Augusta, SC……Mr. Charles Wayne “Chuck” Hall, 85, devoted husband of 62 years to Jackie Hall, entered into rest on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Piedmont Augusta. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the J.M. Ford Funeral Chapel with Dr. Paul W. Noe officiating. Interment with Veteran’s Honors will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Mr. Hall was born in Bushnell, FL to the late E.T. and Frances Woodard Hall. He made North Augusta his home since 1973 after having lived in Florida and Charleston. He and Jackie were longtime members of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Chuck was extremely proud of his service in the United States Navy as a SONAR Technician aboard the USS Trigger SS-564 submarine (1958-1962). Following his service, he embarked on a long and successful 33-year career as a Customer Engineer for complex mainframe systems for IBM. He established himself as a consummate problem solver and as a result earned 4 Distinguished Service Awards from IBM. The pride and joy that he found in his service and his career were evidenced by his proclivity to tell those he came in contact with about his experiences. He was actively involved with the Boy Scouts for over 30 years, not only as a Scout-father to two sons, but also holding many leadership positions, to include Scoutmaster. He mentored many boys as they made their way through the ranks of the Boy Scouts, even going to Eagle Ceremonies and standing with those who were without a father to stand with them. His favorite hobbies were bass fishing, camping, and wood carving. Chuck passed his dry and quick sense of humor down through the generations and is considered by his family to be the original “Dad Joke” guy. Always ready to deploy his quick wit, he was never without a zinger when those around him least expected it, often bringing needed levity. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be remembered for being a consistent, calming presence in his family’s life. Survivors in addition to his wife include his sons, Charlie Hall (Aimee), and Joey Hall (Jacqui); his daughter, Amy Stephens (Shawn); his grandchildren, Savanna Stephens, Aaron Stephens, Ryan Stephens, Bethany Hall, Taylor Huff (Ryan), Joshua Holcombe, and Lydia Holcombe; his great grandchildren, Lilian Shirley, Arlo Stephens, and Huxley Huff; his sisters, Benita Sharp (Chuck) and Linda Crew (Jeff). He was preceded in death by his grandson, Kristopher Hall. KILPATRICK .. .. .. David Walter Kilpatrick, 85, passed away on August 9, 2025, at Advent Health Palm Coast Hospital in Palm Coast, Florida. Kilpatrick of St Petersburg FL, and stepsons Kenneth (Amanda) Taylor, and Robert (Melanie) Taylor of Miami FL. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren (and counting), and many other beloved family members and close friends. David took great pride in his veteran status, having served 20 years in the United States Navy, which included two tours in Vietnam, followed by specialized training as an engineman on diesel submarines, including the USS Darter, USS Tiru, and the USS Threadfin. Following his military career, David dedicated 30 years to instructing truck and bus diesel mechanics at Robert Morgan Vocational Technical Institute in Miami Florida, where he shared his knowledge with adults, high school, and college students. His students often spoke of how "Mr. K's" dedication changed the course of their lives, and many went on to highly successful careers. David and his wife, Elizabeth, were active volunteers, giving their time to the VFW, the local food bank, DAV, Flagler County schools, and the Humane Society. David was also a proud member of the Sub Vets, VFW, and DAV. In his free time, David enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and helping neighbors. A private service will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida, to honor his life and service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate in David's honor to one of the following organizations: VFW Post 8696 Palm Coast, FL (Contact directly for preferred donation method). INSKEEP .. .. .. Richard Inskeep, 89, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, in Elmhurst, Illinois. A lifelong resident of the Chicago area, Dick-as he was affectionately known-was a man of deep commitment to his family, community, and country. Born on June 9, 1936 alongside his identical twin brother, Ron, in Chicago, Illinois, Dick grew up with a strong sense of purpose and service. He and his brother enlisted in the United States Navy in 1954 and both served aboard the U.S.S. Angler, a silent submarine that played a vital role during their years of service. His dedication to his country remained a point of pride throughout his life and was honored when he participated in an Honor Flight in 2023. Dick's pursuit of knowledge led him to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Elmhurst College. He continued his education with an MBA from Northwestern University and later earned a JD from John Marshall Law School. These academic achievements laid the foundation for a distinguished professional life. In 1988, Dick opened his own law practice where he focused on real estate and estate planning. His legal career was marked by integrity and diligence, earning him the trust of clients and colleagues alike. His work helped countless individuals navigate some of life's most important decisions with clarity and confidence. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dick was deeply involved in civic life. Soon after leaving the Navy he volunteered as a fireman for the Glenbard Fire Department. Always quick to raise his hand, Dick could be found serving as a Trustee for Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Foundation Board Member at Endeavor Hospital, Chairman of the Elmhurst Economic Development Corporation, and was involved with Elmhurst College Alumni Cabinet. His commitment to public service reflected his belief in giving back to the community that had given him so much. It was at the Elmhurst skating rink where Dick met Marietta, who would become his beloved wife. Their shared journey was filled with love and partnership. Together they raised two children: their son John (Julie); and their daughter Karen Hagan (Brian). Dick is also survived by five grandchildren: Jaimi Tuttle (Ryan), Liam, Teague, Keeley, and Renny Hagan. Dick had an extraordinary ability to connect with people. Known for being involved in everything around him, he made friends wherever he went and left lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to know him. His warmth, humor, and generosity enriched every room he entered. | ||
