The above link goes to the USSVI (United States Submarine Veterans, Inc.) Facebook page where their members who have gone on “Eternal Patrol” are noted.

I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.

TAYLOR .. .. .. Patterson Corwin Taylor - Captain, US Navy (retired) - departed on his final patrol on September 18, 2025. He slipped away peacefully in Virginia Beach, VA, where he and his spouse Karen have resided since 1977. Pat was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1933 to parents, Arthur Howard Taylor and Marjorie Haines Taylor, both of Philadelphia, PA. Born into a career Navy family, Pat inevitably entered the Naval Academy at Annapolis, graduating with his class in 1955. The following year, he married his sweetheart, Karen Gail O’Beirne, and they began their 69-year family tour, raising their two daughters and three sons. Following in his father’s footsteps, Pat attended Submarine School in New London, Connecticut, and from there embarked on a 28-year career in which he served aboard six different submarines, including as Commanding Officer of both the USS Argonaut (SS 475) and the USS Grampus (SS 523). Throughout his time in the Navy, Pat proudly served his country with honor and distinction. Retiring from the Navy in 1983, Pat and Karen settled in Virginia Beach, VA, where Pat pursued his life-long passion for woodworking. He studied his craft at a nearby community college with fellow local enthusiasts and spent countless hours working on family projects in his own dedicated workshop. Pat was a founding father of the Tidewater Woodworkers Guild where he served as President for 23 consecutive years. Family members so appreciated his beautifully gifted cutting boards, butcher block tables, baby cradles and toddler swings, coin banks and mystery puzzle boxes. One particular passion was building wooden trains to donate to Toys-For-Tots at Christmas. Pat was also a life member of the US Naval Academy Alumni and Athletic Associations, a life member of both the Naval Submarine League and the Submarine Veterans Association (where he was a 50 year - submarine qualified Holland Club member). Pat was also a proud member of the Virginia Beachcombers Kiwanis Club, where he served as a past president. Pat is preceded in death by his beloved parents, his younger brother, Anthony Taylor and his daughter, Pamela Taylor Thorn. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory always: his devoted wife Karen Taylor, daughter Terry Wadsworth (Rob) and sons, Cory Taylor (Cindy), Mike Taylor (Kathy) and Chris Taylor (Lorrie). He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, his sisters-in-law, Gitta Taylor, and Kathleen O’Beirne, a niece, and 2 nephews.
