Admin Posts: 2315 Location: Renton, WA | Subject: Sturgis withdrawl Well Cora dear... a year ago plus a few days... we had a bike ride. One year from now I'll be back and it's not gonna be a short scoot around town like last time... we're getting out on the superslab and you'll experience 80 mph for a good while. After we wind that down... life will seem a little.... slower See you in 365 or so... (MeAndCora.jpg) Attachments ---------------- MeAndCora.jpg (64KB - 768 downloads)

COMSUBBBS Posts: 2561 Location: Rapid City, SD | Subject: RE: Sturgis withdrawl What a terrible picture...of me. I was happy to meet you for the first time - and it shows - but whenever I looked at that picture, I thought I looked like the devil...literally. Except it seemed that I only had one horn. On closer exam I figured out that the pointy thingy seeming to be sticking out of my head was the decoration on my mailbox. Eighty mph? I don't think so. Where are we going? Guess we could go north on Haines Avenue; end up at the National Cemetery and visit Elmer. I miss that ornery old coot. He could be a real stinker at times, but I still miss him. I keep telling everyone that I'm writing a book. One of these days I'll have to quit talking about it - and do it. I'm just about finished scanning all his old pictures so I can give them back to Elmer's daughter Karen. I've been working with an old friend via long distance. He is a semi-retired pastor who I once worked for as the church secretary. He's very good with a computer and has been teaching me how to place pictures on the pages. If I live long enough, this project WILL be completed. I've even sent my friend a page or two that I put together (in Elmer's words), and he wasn't able to differentiate between Elmer talking and me talking like Elmer. Oops, I'm giving secrets away. AND - if I haven't said it enough...I can never thank all my friends on this board for their expertise in assisting me with the technical stuff. Just a few days before he died, my brother told me that it would probably be an unfinished work; and there have been days I would have agreed with him, but I'm still plodding along, with lots of help and encouragement. My most recent excuse. I want to spend as much time with Cam before he reports to Basic. He and I are going to begin a landscaping project in a day or so. I've had four guys here today - two of them were marking where all the underground utilities are; one was here inspecting the underground sprinkler heads, some of which will have to be moved. And the fourth one was "Ray." I'm kidding. His name was John. He's my Blind Man. That's what it says on the side of his van - something like "Blind Man Driving." He was here to adjust the vertical blinds in the dining room. They were installed over a year ago, and have never been right. Really look good now. I think "Ray" was the fellow who originally installed them. He was 'sposed to come and re-adjust them, but after I had put his name on my calendar, I learned that he charged seventy bucks just to make a house call, so I cancelled him, but forgot to delete his name from my calendar. At least I think that's what happened. For the time being, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Eighty miles an hour! You don't really drive that fast, do you? You'd just be a blur streaking down the - how'd you say it - the superslab. How about forty? Sounds about right. When we wake up tomorrow morning, it will be only 364 days to wait. Right? I'll drink to that. Cora Edited by Corabelle 2008-08-05 10:29 AM

Remember I will be living on the east end of the state in a few weeks. The house I am moving into does have an extra bedroom and is within walking distance of the bars downtown.

Admin Posts: 2315 Location: Renton, WA | Subject: RE: Sturgis withdrawl From the west actually... with three or four other riders and a possible chase rig too. We camp with a large (20-30) party from Minnesota that has been going to this particular campground since day one so we get the primo spot.
