At random: The first boat known to have been navigated under water was built in 1620 by a Dutchman, Cornelius Van Drebbel. Van Drebbel is said to have developed a chemical which would purify the air and allow the crew to stay submerged for extended periods.

All day yesterday I KNEW I was forgetting something.  This morning it hit like a ton of bricks: Cowboy would have been 64.

I am attending Fleet Week in the City tomorrow (actually gettingunderway on the S.S. O'Brien for six hours to watch the air show).  Itwill be my 62nd, and I'll definitely tip a my glass to my ol' bud,Gary.  I miss you, Pard!!

It hit me hard too since we were the same age. Only mine is a month later. I turn 64 on the 8th. Happy B-day Cowpoke.....

Thanks for the reminder, Bill. I did not know we shared a birthday.

I will have the Bell tolled in his Memory at the Wahoo Base meeting next Saturday.
