Briana departed Monday for her tour in the war zone. I just received this note form her:

"..I'm in Bahrain, one stop away from africa can't wait to finally be there! I'll email you when I get there. Love you!.. "

Man, do I wish I could go with her. Hard to see your grandkids go off to war. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers, please.

Many good thoughts and prayers go with her, Tim. Will add one more ribbon to my tree when I get home.

God bless you, Briana!

Teaspoon, During the first Gulf War, my bride and I got to see our daughter sling her weapon, grab her gear and climb aboard a commercial 474 and head off to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It's weird to see your daughter hauling an AR-15 and heading off to war. Strange...I will hold your grandaughter, Briana in my heart and nightly remembrances. In your next e-mail please give her my best and convey my pride in living in a natuion that produces such dedicated women. DEX

My grandson got back from Irac about a month ago and now he is going to some base in So. Cal. He is a full time MP with the National Guard. And on top of that his sister got a scholarship to Penn. State so she is back there. It seems like yesterday I was teaching them to swim in my bake yard.
My blessings go out to Briana. John396

Tim:
send me her address by e-mail or private messenger; my wife and I will add her to list of troops receiving packages from us in November.

Tim, She is in our Hearts and will be in our prayers for a safe and quick return home..
As a proud member of a Family with 3 Blue Stars on the flag in our porch window ( Our Son, Our Son-in Law, and the Nephew I raised) I can relate. It seems this War has been going on forever. Our Son has more 10 deployments to either Afgahanistan or Iraq since 9/11 and it has been a journey for all of us. I surely know now how our parents felt about our Service.
Please pass along our Thank Yous and best wishes. We are all proud along with ya.

BTW Doc.. The work you and your better half as well as all the others do in support of our people overseas is wonderful and truely appreciated.. As a parent of one of the many who are or have served there Thanks.. Thank you very much Shipmate.

Tim, I still tend to remember her as the young girl I met at the Bash.  Even then, you could tell she was something special!  Godspeed Briana...
