The above link goes to the USSVI (United States Submarine Veterans, Inc.) Facebook page where their members who have gone on “Eternal Patrol” are noted.

I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.

The following is is not an obituary, but a notice of death of an active-duty submariner.

A Navy sailor assigned to a submarine in Newport News, Va., died by suicide earlier this week, the ninth such death in the service in a little over a year, according to the region’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Electronics Technician Navigation 3rd Class Devon Faehnrich, assigned to the USS Montana, was found Monday on the pier next to the submarine at Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of the Huntington Ingalls Industries, and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Faehnrich was found to have died from a gunshot wound to the head, Donna Price, spokesperson for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told The Hill on Friday.
The sailor, who was originally from Colorado, enlisted in the Navy in April 2021, completing boot camp and submarine training in March 2022 and reporting to the Montana in the same month, according to his service record.
The submarine had been at Newport News Shipbuilding for some work since January, according to company spokesman Todd Corillo, who declined to comment on Faehnrich’s death on the defense contractor’s property.
“Out of respect for our customer and to protect the privacy of military families, Newport News Shipbuilding does not discuss deaths of our U.S. Navy teammates with the exception of a workplace accident,” he said in a statement to The Hill. “Our condolences go out to the sailor’s family and friends, and our shipbuilders, during this time of loss.”
Faehnrich’s death is the latest in a series of suicides among sailors in maintenance or assigned to shore duty in the Navy, with many assigned to stay on ships going through repairs.

Very much so.  Maybe more information would make it easier to understand. I guess it happened in our times as well, but I don't remember it - it certainly wasn't on Stars and Stripes.

I never heard of it at all, at least in the 4 years that I served.

I hate to see any suicide. I saw many Marine cases. They are not pretty for community or family. I noticed the write up said 5 in the lasty year. That disturbs me the most. As someone that went through the hazing of Texas A & M and that on the boats, I know it can be tough. None the less, I hope this doesn't become normal. My service, the boat service, can not have this. I pray that I'm over stating my feelings. DBF.

We had a YN striker on 611G commit suicide when we returned to the States, He didn't fit in very well and spent the run being teased and harassed. One of the reason I asked for a transfer after my 2nd run. I got some of that same treatment but not nearly as harsh as his. You didn't want to be a be crew member. They thought hazing was their welcome aboard.

I saw this and thought it was the suicide death, unfortunately it's not:

A sailor at the Navy’s Surface Combat Systems Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois, was found dead on February 8, 2026, the Navy confirmed.
Seaman Apprentice Joshua Jones, 19, originally from Florida, was discovered unresponsive in his barracks at 11:30 a.m., seated on his bed, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
He had enlisted on March 27, 2025, and was a student at the command after graduating boot camp. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is leading the investigation; suicide is not suspected, with cause of death pending toxicology and further testing.
