These are descriptions of ships sunk. What were they - or - what type of ships were they?
I know they were Japanese.

Small AK (EU) 700 tons & 2,000 tons
Medium AK (EU) 4,000 tons
Large AK (EU) 7,500 tons

What's an AK? Or an EU?

I know I will have more of these type designations later.
