Trim & Drain refers to the power supply busses and the reference to Electrical Schools is the ooly used for remembering the resistor color-code: Black, Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet, Gray, White (0 thru 9, respectively).
I'll take a black and bitter with my sticky buns, please.

I remember that one differently, Doc; maybe it one of those sayings that differed between Atlantic and Pacific fleets. The version I recall is:
'Works fine, fails safe, varies from ship to ship, and don't f**k with it!'
Besides which nothing on this earth is 100% sailor-proof! |

If you were taught by a WW II vet (as I was) it went "Bad boys rape our young girls behind Victory Garden walls. Get some now!"
The last bit stood for Gold, Silver, No color which was the last band on the resistor and indicated tolerance value +/- (5%, 10%, 20%, IIRC). |
