Today we feature a crew picture from the 1953 era of the USS Charr SS-318 sent over by Richard Reichner, our in-house retired torpedoman Chief down in sunny San Diego - thanks for sharing this great shot Richard!

I thought I understood boat numbering but apparently not. In 1953 the Charr was SS318 and 10 years later when I was on her she was SS328. Doesn't it get confusing when all the boats change their numbers by one each year.

I expect that was simply a typo. Forunately I've never done that myself.
