Watched it again last night from beggining to end.
It was/is a good Submarine movie but it had a lot of Movie stuff in it. Like the lights that were just where they wanted them and everybody had a flaahlight and the leaks caused by Depth Chargeing always had a valve to stop the water flow DUH!
All in all I can criticize it because I (We) went through a lot worse. I'm just sorry that some American movie guy couldn't see the potentential or didn't read my book TORPEDOMAN.

Hey Ron,
Don't you know the only books that make movies are written by Ossifers.
Besides, I have your book and although you mention a submarine in it a few times ,I thought it was mostly about your young sex life.
Love and kisses,

Warshot, When they make the epic film TORPEDOMAN will you tell them to use Meg Ryan to play the gal, Ron Smith plays strip poker with in that hotel room? I would be most grateful and promise to buy the DVD when it comes out....or go rent it at the porno video store. Too bad the Duke turned in his disposable gear and headed topside. Take it easy, Shipmate DEX |

It was a pretty good flick and it probably did document some of the boredom and disappointment that WWII submariners felt on long patrols,
but I still like the hollywood versions like "Destination Tokyo" because the action was more battle action and drama. They both were good flicks though. What I would like to see a movie based on the true advetures of Kane on the Wahoo. |
