We had little or no coverage this time. I know most people could give a sh&*, but I love sailing. Had my first sail boat at 8 yrs. in Alameda. The Americas Cup has become such a money thing, it taken all the fun out of it.

It was one of the closest races yet. The swiss had a 4 to 2 advantage going into the race. The New Zealanders pulled ahead and were looking good early on due to a class move that gave them the wind , but lost 4 sec. when they took a wave head on. The NZ boat then was called for a foul by tacking too close to the Ahligi about half way down the final leg. This was the first time a foul has ever been called in the Cup race. Unbelievibly the Ahlingi broke a spar about 3 or 4 boat lengths from the finish line that let the NZ take the lead, but they still had to perform a penalty turn and decided to do it about one boat length from the finish. The Ahlingi just got thier bow across the finish as the NZ was gathering momentum after the turn. If the NZ had waited just 4 seconds longer before doing the penalty turn, they would have won.
