I read about these different countries getting into the subamrine business and I think about the US Submarine Navy...not today but 40 years ago when I was serving. In 40 years, no one has come close to duplicating technology that the US had put in the trash heap 15 years ago.
No one ever equaled the SSBN Polaris Fleet. The SSNs of that time were second to none as we found out after the Soviet Union fell apart.
I can only imagine the details of today's SSBN and SSN technology. But we have clowns like Chevez thinking he will buy a few diesel subs and dominate the Caribbean Sea. This is a joke.
We were the best from WWII until today and into tomorrow. |

Reminds me of an old joke (really, really old). The US and Russia decided to have a sporting contest to determine who had the best athletes. The tests were really hard, dangerous and exceptionally challenging. To prevent politicizing it, it was decided that no winner or loser would be announced. It was strictly for the challenge. In the end, the USA won (naturally). Russia broke the rules and published the results anyway: "Russia comes in second at international sporting event. US comes in next to last". |
