Zat mean Gentry's goona have me standing winter topside watches in an unheated dogshack? Tender mail runs in the rain? Picking up Guard Mail? Switching Dutchmen (FBT blank flanges) in the superstructure? Doing those damn Notice to Mariners pen and ink chart corrections? Collecting those filthy germ cultivating, Engine Room coffee cups...those greasy fingerprint laden, colera incubating, World Heath Organization condemed Engineman and Motor Mac handled cups? Does being crew put you in the "2"Sanitary yard period diving lottery? I don't trust CPO's....they buy you a beer and expect you to marry their buck toothed, glass eyed, hair lipped, peg legged sister....Is being crew, good or bad? Do you get a chit for a Meg Ryan lapdance? ...Never trust a smiling chief....or anyone who lives in an engine room selling anchor pool chances. And, Stay the hell outta smokeboats, if you don't want a case of athletes foot that will last past your 40th birthday. Is being designated CREW on the USS GENTRY, good or bad? Does it effect your life insurance rates or Hall of Fame elgibility? DEX
