ARROW, Milton Kerry, 51, of Folkston, AL passed away July 7, 2007. He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He was a member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans and the St. Marys Sub Museum. He enjoyed photography and woodworking. He was employed as a Geographic Field Analyst with Tele Atlas of North America. He is survived by his wife, Diane Lloyd Arrow, Folkston; four daughters, Heather Arrow, Binghamton, N.Y., Kristin Arrow, Miami, Fla., Lisa Clark, Hilliard, Fla., and Desiree Flink, Folkston, Ga.; a son, Brian Lloyd, Folkston, Ga.; three sisters, Pam (Dean) Galus, Walford, Iowa, Leslie Case, Rochester, N.Y., and Denise (David) Shayka, Binghamton, N.Y.; and a brother, Mark Arrow, Vestal, N.Y.; ten grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 10, at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, Ga., from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Shepard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Knox officiating. Burial will be in Homeland Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Condolences may be expressed by signing the guest book at shepardfh.com. HOFACRE, Gerald D., 82, died July 13, 2007 at St. Joseph/Candler Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Wayne County, Ohio, graduate of Dalton High School, lived in Orrville, OH for 47 years and retired as Superintendent of the Quality Castings Foundry in Orrville. He moved to the Landings Club at Skidaway Island, GA in 1991. He served in the in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service during WWII. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Grace (Beals) Hofacre, son James K. Hofacre of Montreal, Canada, three daughters, Diane Hathaway of Little Rock, AR, Holly Binkley, of Columbus, OH and Jill Sample, of Fort Wayne, IN, two brothers, Wade Hofacre, of Massillon, Ohio, and Russell Hofacre, of Ocala, FL, one sister, Pauline H. Ryals, of Wooster, Ohio, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial service: 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2007 in the chapel of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church, 54 Diamond Causeway, Savannah, GA 31411. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or Skidaway Island United Methodist Church Building Fund. SWEENEY, Joseph J., Beloved Companion, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Cherished Friend passed away on July 13, 2007, surrounded by loving family and friends. Preceded in death by parents, James and Ada Sweeney, brothers and sister: John, James, Flo, Donald, and Eddie. Joe will be sadly missed by his beloved Chickadee, Mary Berg, his sister, Edna, his children: MaryEllen (Larry) Dick, Kate (Terry) Murray; Edward, Daniel (Pam), and Joseph (Cynthia); grandchildren: Zachariah Dick, Jeremy Sweeney, Alison and Shannon Murray, Austin and Ashlyn Sweeney, and Christopher (Gretchen) Hansen, great grandchildren Gere and Grace Hansen, many nieces and nephews, Mary's children: Patty (Dave) ZumBerge, Tracy, Brian (Heather), and Melissa (Tim) Schuette and their children: Emileah, Natalicia, and Stephanita ZumBerge; David, Mikayla, Kali, Lisha, Logan, Havilah, Josiah, and Trisha Berg; and Nicholas and Jessica Schuette, and many many caring friends including his former wife, Ellen Counts. Joe served our country in both the Naval Submarine Service and the Air Force in the Korean War. He was a generous man who gave his time, friendship, and support to many people and organizations across his lifetime. Joe loved his family and friends, enjoyed music, fishing, travel, and he especially took pleasure in telling jokes, laughing, and getting others to laugh with him. His legacy will be found in the hearts of all of the people who knew him, shared happy and hard times with him, and received help and affirmation from him in their time of need. Visitation will be held at KOLDEN FUNERAL HOME in Arlington on July 15, 4-7PM followed by a service at ST. MARY'S CHURCH at 7PM. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers to the Salvation Army or Abbott Northwestern Hospital Foundation.
