I just acquired another one to add to the collection. Came across a 30-30 and paid to much for it. I already have the 303, 300 (Janet Blair's rifle), and 250-3000. Now all I lack is the 25-35, which I probably won't find. That 300 remains my gun of choice and has dumped a lot of deer plus one bear and a couple of yotes

the 300 Savage was my brother in law's favorite until stolen from his cabin.

In reality that is not a bad price for one. The best Sheep Guide there ever was swore by one just like it. I gave more than that for the one I have. Own Four 25-35's, a Savage 99, a Winchester 94, a Ballard and a Mini Sharps. The Mini Sharps was built to be the Grand Son's Deer and Woodchuck rifle. Great caliber for the young, starting out hunter.

Then I got one hell of a deal on the 30-30 at $550. I will have to save pennies to get one of them.

Your still short a take-down with a spare 410 barrel. Save a lot more pennies. Especially with the original case. By the way, my 25-35 is 95%, and it took me eight years to find one that good. If it is in 85% or better, you did great on the 30-30. The internet makes finding those things a lot easier than stopping at a whole bunch of gun shops when you travel, just not as much fun.
