Forty two years ago on the 10th November 1975, the laker, Edmund Fitzgerald, carrying iron ore, sank in Lake Superior with the loss of all 29 hands during one of the worst storms within living memory. The Canadian songwriter/singer, Gordon Lightfoot, wrote and recorded his tribute to the ship and her crew - The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

I understand Gordon Lightfoot performs the song here each anniversary. We are a day late for this year.
