BIERWIRTH, Gary, was born on January 4, 1951 and passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Gary was a resident of Morris, Illinois at the time of passing. He was raised and educated in Bartonville, Illinois and graduated from Limestone High School with the class of 1968. After graduation, Gary honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era and was stationed aboard a submarine.


FLYNN, Edward R., Jr., of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Dec 14, 2017 at his home. Ed served his country from November 1983 to March 1990 in the United States Navy with a focus on Nuclear Powered Submarines. Ed moved to Carlsbad to begin his career at WIPP in 1990 in Maintenance as a Senior Electronic Technician. He was currently an Operations Specialist in Instrumentation and Control. Ed is survived by three daughters: Gail Flynn, Allison Flynn, and Cara Flynn. He is also survived by his father Edward Flynn, Sr., and stepmother Maureen Flynn as well as by his sisters Kathy (Flynn) McCulloch, Darra (Flynn) Gallegos, Trish (Flynn) Carrillo, Colleen (Flynn) Owens, stepsister Donna Lopez, and brother Michael Flynn. Ed is survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gail Patricia Flynn. A celebration of life service will be held in March 2018, tentatively in Los Alamos, NM. Ed will be laid to rest beside his mother, Gail Patricia Flynn. GOTT, William T., LT, USN, Ret., 78, of Georgetown, KY, died peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2017. Bill was born on January 15, 1939 in Lexington, KY to Joe and Grace (Reagan) Gott. On January 17, 1959 Bill married his high school sweetheart, Carol Sims, and over the next several years they welcomed three children. In 1960, Bill joined the US Navy where he served honorably for 20 years working in the submarine service aboard diesel and nuclear powered submarines and submarine support ships. Bill had numerous duty stations within the US as well as tours in Italy and Guam. While Bill served aboard several ships, he was very proud of the fact that he served aboard the submarine that bore his high school's namesake, the USS Henry Clay (SSBN 625). Following naval service, he was the director of training for several nuclear power plants. Bill is survived by his children, Allen (Linda), Jeff (Darragh), and Dawn (Ted) Pickerill. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Gott; parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:30 am at First Presbyterian Church, 317 E. Main Street, Georgetown, KY with Rev. Wanda B. Olive officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. A reception will follow in the church hall, and all are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill's life. Inurnment will be held at 2:30 pm at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John XXIII Catholic School, 3806 Manchester Rd. QUICKER, Ronald Ellis, 88, of Bonney Lake, WA, passed away on Dec. 12, 2017. He was born on Aug. 25, 1929 in Granton, WI to Roland and Ora (Montgomery) Quicker. After graduating from Granton High he joined the Navy, and served as a submariner until retiring in 1971. When not spending time at sea or with the family he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ronald is survived by his wife, Shigeko (Takeda) Quicker; and sisters Fay Opelt and Romelle Gillard. There will be a Military Graveside Service at Tahoma National Cemetery on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at 2:00 PM. Published in News Tribune (Tacoma) on Dec. 23, 2017
