I did the same, bought one back in 1982 which was my first visit there.  I gave it away around 2003.
I gave it to a Warrant Officer 'skimmer puke' who was a mate and his first child was born in Hawaii whilst he was on an exchange duties programme.  I thought he was worthy of the gift.
Although I must admit I wish I had kept it now.
