At random: Dollar for dollar and man for man, the submarine is the country's most economical weapon. Comprising only 1.6 percent of the Navy's World War II personnel, the submarine service accounted for 55 percent of all enemy shipping destroyed.

Celebrating 42 years of marriage to the "cute little girl from Detroit" today. Seems like only yesterday that we started our life together. What a ride; two Boats, a tour with the Marines 13 moves around the country and looking forward to that day when we both retire to live closer to the kids and grand kids. But for today; its dinner, flowers, fond remembrances and anticipation for the future and all the things we still want to do; together.

28 days ago, we did number 42 and we also wonder, were did those years go.
1965 was a good year, and 2007 is just as good if not better, we're alive.
Hopefully we'll survive to enjoy the fun of the 50 th.
I hope Pat is better with pipe music than my Swiss lady, she does NOT like the good sounds than bagpipes emit.
When you receive the chance to retire DO IT without hesitation.
Just make sure you hide the brooms around the house, or have a good excuse to go somewhere.
Retired husbands are great targets for wifes with a handy broom.
Buy her a computer, put it with a TV in the kitchen, you'll survive a little bit easier.
Don't go dutch treat when going out to dinner tonight and leave the pipes home.

The 'Doc' is doubly blessed!

Not only is he married to a 'hottie', but she is afflicted with a singular lack of judgement in picking a mate, which allowed him to scoop her up before a more worthy suitor appeared!

And, he'd got a really cute dog too! Some guys get all the breaks.

Congratulations Doc! You are a lucky man indeed!

Congratulations!  Over the past 27 years, I've come to the realization that a good marriage is worth the effort it takes to have a good marriage.

....for Pat and Sharon!

My heart goes out to the two of them for sure, another fine example of two lovely ladies being led astray.....

Seriously, congrats to you both, Doc and Pat.

Thanks to all "youse guys"; I'm sure Blue noticed the "watch cap" Pat is wearing in that photo. He had to leave two of them here because neither one of us wants to share.
Last night we both were at band practice; the louder I played the pipes the harder she banged the drum. What a team we are; a piper and a drummer in the same house.
Drives the dog nuts and she's a Scottie.
She gave me a one year extension to go for #43; I asked if we could just sign up for #50 and she told me she'll get back to me on that; sigh, one year at a time;
LOL

Forget the dog!! What about the neighbors? Now maybe you understand the dirty looks and extended middle fingers!

Sincere congratulations to you both despite all the caterwauling and banging!

I love this quote. You should print it out and sign it in front of a Notory, Larry!
