Subject: Obit Messenger results for 09/21/07

PETTIS, Robert A., 89, passed away on September 19, 2007. Bob served 7 years on submarine duty in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Niagara Grenadier Chapter of Submarine Veterans of WWII. He was an avid golfer and a 42 year retiree of Eastman Kodak Company, where he worked in the Utility Division. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie "Betti" in 2004. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Raymond, Francis, Kenneth and Lawrence; and sister, Marilyn. He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Thomas) Whatford; grandson, Kristoffer Piper; and Kristoffer's fiance, Julie Finer of Denver, CO; brother, Gerald; and sister-in-law, Erma Pettis; many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff of Crimson Ridge and Edna Tina Wilson Living Center for their compassionate care. Friends may call Monday 6:30-8:00 PM at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Road (between English & Latta Road). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Service League or a charity of your choice.

SONNON, Sr., David N., 62, died in his home in Gainesville, GA on Monday, September 17, 2007. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Raymond and Josephine Sonnon. After graduating from Williamstown High School in Williamstown, NJ, Mr. Sonnon served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1967 in the submarine service. Mr. Sonnon and his family lived in Oswego, IL from 1978 until relocating to Georgia in 1992, where he and his family operated Sun-Rich of Winder until 2002. He was active in philanthropic and charitable organizations with dedicated service to the Optimist (Oswego), Moose, and Eagle's Clubs. He served in local and state offices. He was currently serving as Secretary of the Eagles at the Gainesville Aerie 4452. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Donna (Neece) Sonnon; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David N. Sonnon, Jr. (Mandi Warren) of Sugar Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Dusten Sonnon (Derica Smith) of Merritt Island, FL, and Mr. and Mrs. Devon Sonnon (Loryn Post) of Charlottesville, VA; three grandchildren, Draven, Logan, and Mason David, all of Sugar Hill; brother, Stephen; sister, Kathleen Bretz; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 20 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held Friday, September 21. In lieu of flowers Mrs. Sonnon requests that donations be made in Mr. Sonnon's name to the Eagles Local Aerie 4452 building fund, 3007 Pathway Road, Gainesville, GA 30501 (Attention Secretary).
