Gil Raynor is posting updates on Ron Martini's BBS - Monday eve

Ron's not resting as easy as we'd all like him to be but he's as tough as they come - he'll be fine!

Losing a kidney to the surgeons knife is not exactly a fun trip. It is more dificult to adequately medicate an elderly patient for post op pain relief than a young person. Dosage has to be decreased to prevent depressing their breathing centers which can lead to significant problems. It becomes a balancing act and sometimes patients are restless/combative/ disoriented because it is difficult get all the pain relief they need without these other problems .
