Subject: a prison poem....

....what's got into me? anyway, here's something I came up with today. Kathy said I need to use some metaphors, but, that's as clear as mud to me ( lol )
oh yeah,

gaol = jail
Boss = Officer
down the back = punishment cells
Recovery = our inhouse 'police', we do it as part of our duties and we patrol within.

“Boss, Boss…..”
All day long
Relentlessly, demanding
Wanting it now

Why do you make my gaol so hard
You wouldn’t last a week he said, unknowingly
Everything at their disposal
If only the victims could see

Showers every day
Phone calls to Mum
Movies by the hour
Letters to and fro

Population explosion
A cell mate for you
But he smokes Boss
So f*ck you

Tension boils over
You’re not moving cells
Recovery called
Down the back for a short stay

Spoilt big kids
Want everything their own way
Poor innocent me
I’ve heard them say

No thoughts for grandma
They bashed one drugged up day
The little girl asked for it
So we lock them away

I went under the sea
No showers, no letters
No moon or sun for me
For 7 weeks at a time

Why do you make my gaol so hard
You wouldn’t last a week he said, unknowingly
If only the victims could see
