At random: The first periscope used by the United States Navy was not built for a submarine. The ironclad monitor OSAGE utilized a periscope to discover a Confederate cavalry unit taking cover behind the high banks of the Red River in Arkansas.

Wish I could be there with you all! Great group of submariners, one and all....old and young, dbf or nukie poos..

I'll be there in spirit for Sat. nite's barbeque on the deck of the Torsk or Taney.....and wondering how close you can come to the standards Doc Beeghly set (or lowered) for the harvest moon or for navigation back to the boat after an evening of beer and boobs at Hooters!

Roy A. .....is the bra still flying on the Taney????????

Leslie's bra long time ago deteriorated in the weather, and is gone.

Actually, the cup size was so big and filling with air at every breeze the Taney began moving and stretching it's lines to the pier. So it had to be removed for the sake of safety. Taney not being seaworthy of course....

They had to get a steeplejack to remove it since Ramjet who installed it was incommunicado...

Regret to confirm it is still missing as I slept aboard the Taney the last three nights.
Happy to be home but thoroughly enjoyed the run!

Glad to hear you made it back to Lipan safe and sound....hope the nasty weather has left you alone!
Sure would have liked to have been up there....missed a shot at meeting the great GUMBA, not to mention seeing all the great folks that always show up. Sure hope Dex didn't get another parking ticket!

Thanks to all the folks that showed up to participate! I echo what Gumba said in his post! Bravo Zulu to a group of the best!
