At random: The USS Blenny SS 324, on her last patrol of WW II sank 63 vessels. One by torpedo and 62 by deck gunfire, demolition charges set by boarding parties or by burning. On several occasions shotguns were fired through the boats bottoms. These were all vessels under the 500 ton JANAC limit for tonnage sunk and not counted in the "official" totals or ships sunk. This is also a record for the most vessels ever sunk by a submarine on one patrol.

I know last week was ladies weekend but I missed out one special lady who deserves a spot. This small fiery redhead (are there any other kind?) from Texas, Carolyn Wonderland, seems a reincarnation of the late Janis Joplin. This gifted songwriter and accomplished guitarist with that special kind of raucous blues voice has been around quite a while on the folk/blues circuit. First two clips are from the Jam in the Van gig at Quincy, CA last year. The third one is with Bonnie Raitt at another event. How cool and laid back is Bonnie on stage here?
