LAWHORN, Sr., Paul C., 80, died Saturday, October 17, 2007. Services will be 10A.M., Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Perry with Bishop Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Fort Valley. -Born in Thomasville to the late Robert W. and Alma Pritchard Lawhorn, Mr. Lawhorn was retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and a member of Fort Valley Masonic Lodge #110. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, served in the submarine fleet aboard the USS Cochino (SS-345) and was the last known survivor of the USS Cochino.* He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Perry. -Survivors include children, Linda C. Cook of Roberta, Paul C. "Butch" Lawhorn, Jr. of Fort Valley, Charles G. and Sherry Lawhorn of Jeffersonville, Ind. and Ann L. and Randy Thompson of Musella; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchild-ren; sisters, Jean Palmer and Zadie and Joe Regan, all of Fort Valley; brother, Richard and Linda Lawhorn of Fort Valley; sisters-in-law, Gloria P. Lawhorn of Winter Park, Fla. and Lois G. Lawhorn of Perry. -He was preceded in death by brothers, Julian Lawhorn and Robert James "Jimmy" Lawhorn; and a grandson, David E. Schofill. -The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 16 at Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley. -Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley has charge of arrangements. SCOTT, Henry Paul, 66, died October 14, 2007, at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, PA where he had been a patient one week. Born January 22, 1941, in Reading, he was a son of the late Henry T. and Marjorie (Weaks) Scott. Henry was employed by Firestone as a chemist and also sold insurance, retiring in 1991. Henry was a 1959 graduate of Meredith (N.H.) High School. He went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Maryland, graduating in 1973. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was in the submarine unit and was commissioned to the USS Nathan Hale (SSBN-623). Surviving are a son, Jeffrey C. Scott, Shillington; and a daughter, Marjorie M. Scott, Reading. He also is survived by a brother, James Scott, Center Harbor, N.H.; and a sister, Elsie (Scott) Hall, Downingtown. There are three grandchildren: Julianna, Christopher and Ethan. There will be no services. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, is in charge of arrangements.
