Subject: Obit Messenger results for 10/22/07

LUBOMSKI, Arthur (Art) R., 84, died at his home on Saturday, October 20, 2007,after a brief illness. He was born in Erie on July 28, 1923, the son of the late Stanley and Stella (Pastewka) Lubomski. He served in the U.S. Navy, Submarine Service, Pacific Fleet from 1942 to 1948, Completing his tour of duty aboard the USS Sea Owl (SS-405). He was a supervisor at the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 42 years of service. He was a founding member of our Lady of Peace parish and a Cursiesta. He was an avid bowler, golfer, loved crossword puzzles and playing pinochle. He was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Norte Dame Fighting Irish. He was preceded in death by a sister; Pearl Ras. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Anna (Parra) Lubomski and six Children, Richard (Art) Lubomski and his wife Evelyn, Susan Casella, Anne Marie Sperrazzo and her husband Samuel, Dr. Lisa Lubomski and her husband Dr. Laurence Magder, of Baltimore, Md., Stephanie Bruno and Tim Hershelman, and Patrice Kocher and her husband David. He was a loving Papa to thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are two sisters, Patricia Villella and Barbara Comi, and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, 1700 Peach St., Suite 244, Erie, PA 16501-2134 or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
