At random: Interests in submarines extends to royalty and presidents. The King of England and the King and Queen of Spain are among those who have made submerged cruises in submarines. As a result of a trip in an early United States submarine, President "Teddy" Roosevelt ordered extra compensation for personnel serving in the "Silent Service." President Harry Truman made a 440 foot dive in a captured German submarine. The first President to cruise aboard a nuclear submarine was President Eisenhower who rode the USS SEAWOLF out of Newport, Rhode Island on September 26, 1957.

Subject: Sept - Oct 2019 Dolphin Brotherhood Posted

The September - October 2019 issue of the Dolphin Brotherhood has been posted and is ready to view and download. You can get it at the link in this message or by going to the Seattle Base Blog. The newsletter is stored on Dropbox, but you do not need to sign up for Dropbox account to view and download the newsletter (you can just close the window asking you to create or sign in to your account).

This issue has photos from the Kirkland Independence Day parade, photos from the August Tolling the Boats ceremony, a short article on Walt Disney designed battle insignia, and the usual submarine related articles.

Hardcopies will be mailed out this weekend. I hope you all enjoy the newsletter.
