'Pure' gold would not last long and be out of shape very easily. Imagine the throne is an alloy to improve the hardness. |

Something just occurred to me. Was Von S the only boat where the CO's toilet seat was white and all the others Black? One of the things I learned when I was leant to "A" Div for a run. |

To the best of my recollection, the After Battery head on the Pickerel had no lid. Do you remember what was posted on the inner door for our reading pleasure while sitting on the head? |

Our O boats had a stainless steel pan with a black bakelite hinged seat. No 'covering' lid. |
