Subject: Tuesday Obit

DAWES, Ray J., 94, of White House, TN, was born on May 28, 1925 and passed away on November 10, 2019 following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Mary Charlene Dawes, his daughter Janice Raye Dawes Anderson, his parents Ferdi Dawes and Alta Irene Dawes, his brother Guy Dawes, and sisters Mary Lou Bloominburg and Lucyle Mobley. He is survived by his son-in-law Ken Anderson. Born and raised in western Kentucky, Mr. Dawes honorably served in the United States Navy, with most of his tour being spent on voluntary submarine duty. Following his military service, he returned home to Kentucky and worked for many years as a plant coordinator with Union Carbide in Paducah. Both he and his wife Charlene were employed and later retired from there. Visitation will be held at Collier Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Briensburg Baptist Church Cemetery.
