BOYCE, David Compton, 57, a 22 year resident of Jacksonville, FL, died suddenly on September 28, 2007. Mr. Boyce was born July 20, 1950 in Westchester County, New York. David was valedictorian of St. Luke's Academy in New Canaan, Ct. He was an active member of both scholastic and age-group swim teams and played football. He attended Dartmouth College, majoring in computer science. He joined the US Navy in 1972, was a petty officer in nuclear propulsion aboard Polaris class submarines, and earned a degree in library science while on active duty. During his career he received the National Defense Service Medal, SSBN Deterrent Patrol Insignia, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Submarine Enlisted Breast Insignia (Silver Dolphins), and Battle Efficiency Awards. He was involved in many of the local groups, among them, The Blood Alliance to whom he gave over 20 gallons of life giving blood. He often worked at WJCT during their Auctions/ Membership drives. He is survived by his ex-wife, Jean E. Boyce of Jacksonville FL, his brother, Wilson K. Boyce of Ft. Meyers, FL and a sister, Linda Corrin Smith (Jim) of Gilbert AZ, and their 3 children, Christopher, Peter and Sarah. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., from 4-5 pm. KIGHT, Delbert "Bob", 89, of Waterford, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, October 30, 2007. Born in Raymond, Wash., Bob was a submarine veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served in World War II on nine of the eleven war patrols of the USS Albacore (SS-218), Pacific Fleet, which hit a mine and was sunk in 1944. He worked for many years at SUPSHIP, Groton, and remained active in the local submarine veterans group. He was also a lifetime member of the New London Elks. Bob was an avid cribbage player, loved to fish and boat, and enjoyed growing his vegetable garden. He also enjoyed watching football and his favorite teams, the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. He is survived by children, Mercedes and her husband, Armando Esposito, of Waterford and Raymond and his wife, Connie Miles, of California. He has five grandchildren, Karen and her husband, Gerhard Samide, of Farmington, Lisa and her husband, Norman Trebilcock, of Naples, Fla., Robert and his wife, Deb Esposito, of Waterford, Roberta Miles of California and Cynthia Miles of New York. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Emily Trebilcock of Naples, Fla., and Anthony Miles of California. He was predeceased by his wife, Mercedes Anne Vannini Kight, in 2004; his parents, sister and brother. Services are private and being handled by Neilan & Sons Funeral Home. The family requests no flowers, please.


LUBOMSKI, Arthur (Art) R., 84, died at his home on Saturday, October 20, 2007,after a brief illness. He was born in Erie on July 28, 1923, the son of the late Stanley and Stella (Pastewka) Lubomski. He served in the U.S. Navy, Submarine Service, Pacific Fleet from 1942 to 1948, Completing his tour of duty aboard the USS Sea Owl (SS-405). He was a supervisor at the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 42 years of service. He was a founding member of our Lady of Peace parish and a Cursiesta. He was an avid bowler, golfer, loved crossword puzzles and playing pinochle. He was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Norte Dame Fighting Irish. He was preceded in death by a sister; Pearl Ras. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Anna (Parra) Lubomski and six Children, Richard (Art) Lubomski and his wife Evelyn, Susan Casella, Anne Marie Sperrazzo and her husband Samuel, Dr. Lisa Lubomski and her husband Dr. Laurence Magder, of Baltimore, Md., Stephanie Bruno and Tim Hershelman, and Patrice Kocher and her husband David. He was a loving Papa to thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are two sisters, Patricia Villella and Barbara Comi, and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery. PETERS, Jr., William G., 66, died peacefully October 31, 2007, at his residence, after an extended illness. He was born April 24, 1941, in Waterville, the son of William Sr. and Aurora (Moen) Peters. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1958 and married Patricia A. Powell on June 13, 1959. Together they raised four children. Bill worked most of his life as an electrician, both in the Navy aboard the submarine USS Archerfish (SS-311), and in the civilian sector after his military service. He taught industrial electricity classes at both Mount Blue High School in Farmington and at Lake Region High School in Naples, in their vocational wings. In 1979, Bill started work as an electrical inspector in Las Vegas, NV for the Clark County Building Department, retiring in 2004. Bill was a member of the National Sheriff's Association, American Legion Post No. 178, the National Rifle Association, and a 39-year member of the Waterville Elks Club. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a man of principle and honor, being one of our truly great Americans. He instilled these values in all his children. From his handshake to his hug, he was genuine, kind and sincere. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia of Dexter; his children, William Peters III of Bridgton, Barbara Blackburn and her husband, Larry, of Las Vegas, Gary Peters and his wife, Kathy, of Annapolis, Md., and Penny Morgan and her husband, Bill, of Puyallup, Wash.; five grandchildren, William Peters IV, Kasey Murphy, Kayla Blackburn, Steven Blackburn, and Christina Ingram; a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn M. Peters; his sister, Bonnie Rogers and her husband, Wayne, of Las Vegas; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements are by Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.
