I've never heard any of you younger guys mention it so I thought I'd ask.
Did you have to sing "Old Ameican" songs. Not popular songs but old American songs in Boot Camp?.
We did in WWll.

Hey my friend, your memory is much better than mine. I don't recall any singing during my boot camp journey. However, there was a fair amount of pissin' & moaning. Sump'n about those darn clothes stops! Great to see ya posting~

I still have 49 of the original 50 cloths stops I was issued. Don't know what happened to the other one, but I hope I never have to stand another 'seabag inspection'. |

"Clothesline Watch" was one of my all-time favorites! Where in hell was the clothesline gonna take off to?
We did have a radio in the barracks, and could use it at certain times if we hadn't pissed-off TM1(SS) Troy Wagner in the past day or two. Otis Redding's "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" was popular at the time. Nobody with stones enough to sing aloud that I recall.
