I am sure that at some point you would expect me to get around to those four lads from my native Liverpool, the Beatles. Having met them during their early years I always thought John Lennon to be the rebellious member and main engine of that group. The first clip at the Royal Command Performance in 1963 proves it. In front of royalty and the upper-class establishment of the land he takes the p*** out of them on stage and I loved every minute of it. He was a working-class hero IMHO.

I remember watching the Royal Variety Performance and the Ed Sullivan Show - quite a few years back now.  1963 in UK and 1965 in Australia.
