Note - Hemmings story is typical of the many great postings years ago on the Sub BBS'.   Great stories by the carload.
Guess everyone got emptied out. I put this together recently to email to my son.

The MTC sure makes beautiful music. On YOUTUBE, I scrolled down and found this one  HOMEWARD BOUND

A WWII painting immediately came to mind. It is GOING HOME by George Schreiber.  I included it several years ago in a story HERE

Schreiber's work can be found on the Naval History and Heritage Command website
His works are in two parts:  HERE  and  HERE  (this page has the GOING HOME painting link)
